Two years to prepare for carbon trading

Large UK retailers and other service sector companies will have just two years to prepare for the introduction of carbon trading, after the prime minister used his first major speech on the environment to announce an extension of the scheme.

Gordon Brown on Monday called for Britain to lead a “fourth technological revolution” by investing in low-carbon technologies and argued that tackling climate change was an economic opportunity for the UK.
