The international community has stepped up pressure on Kenyan politicians to end a stalemate over forming a new cabinet with the UK singling out supporters of Mwai Kibaki, the president, for blocking the process.
David Miliband, the UK’s foreign secretary, said in a statement on Wednesday: “All sides must be prepared to make concessions to allow this to happen, including president Kibaki’s supporters ceding some powerful portfolios.”
