Karzai defends efforts on heroin trade

Hamid Karzai, Afghan president, on Sunday defended his record in the fight against Afghanistan's heroin trade and said international efforts to get involved in the issue had been "ineffective" and "half-hearted".

"We have done our job. Now the international community must do its job - period," Mr Karzai said on CNN's Late Edition on Sunday.
