Blair wins historic third Labour victory

Tony Blair, the British prime minister, won an historic third Labour victory, although with a drastically reduced majority.

Mr Blair pledged on Friday to "focus relentlessly on the priorities of the British people," promising action on issues such as immigration and classroom discipline which were central planks of the opposition Tory campaign.
