Argentina unveils plan to end farm strike

Argentina’s government on Monday unveiled a package of measures to help small farmers in a bid to defuse a 19-day strike over a new export tariff regime that has sparked the worst political crisis in five years.

But leaders of the country’s four main producers associations were unimpressed. ”We’re not seeing sufficient generosity,” said Eduardo Buzzi, president of the Argentine Agrarian Federation.
