Lehman employees prepare for exit

A steady stream of employees carrying boxes and bags came out of Lehman Brothers’ mid-town Manhattan headquarters as darkness fell on Sunday evening and bankruptcy loomed for the 158-year-old Wall Street institution.

Its neon-lit facade still flashing brightly, employees coming out of the building said they had been told to come to work on Monday, but that it could be their last day there.A man carries a box as he leaves the headquarters of Lehman Brothers Holdings in New York
