Sir, Shena Deuchars (“Why does society need to ‘have a grip’ on education of my children?”, Letters, June 28/29) makes an unfounded assumption that I know nothing about home education. As a former teacher, as a parent and as general secretary of a union that includes members who work with home educators, l do have knowledge of the subject.
