Vending machine sales targeted in fight against obesity

Britain, which is to stop school vending machines from dispensing fizzy drinks, chocolate and crisps, is not the only country targeting such machines in its fight against the burgeoning problem of childhood obesity.

In France, where the number of overweight and obese children has doubled over the past 10 years, vending machines selling soft drinks and junk food are to be removed from all middle and secondary schools.
