Eurozone growth forecasts for the next six months were left unchanged by the European Commission on Tuesday in the latest official indication that the region’s economy would remain on track, despite recent global financial market turmoil.
The Commission reaffirmed its August projection that the 13-nation eurozone would grow between a range of 0.2 and 0.8 per cent in the final three months of this year. For the first quarter of 2008, the Commission stuck to its forecast of growth between 0.2 and 0.9 per cent.
