Premier League wants law to tighten defences

English football’s Premier League wants a shake-up of copyright law amid concerns the government needs to do more to protect the increasingly valuable media rights the sport’s top flight is attracting.

The league has milked its domestic and international appeal with a series of mouth-watering new rights deals, worth £2.7bn for this and the next two seasons.
