SNP proclaim economic recovery of neighbours

The Scottish National party claimed on Friday that the countries neighbouring Scotland formed an “arc of recovery” that demolished assertions by its political rivals that small countries had suffered worse than the UK in the recession.

Stewart Hosie, the SNP’s Treasury spokesman at Westminster, said independent figures from the OECD showed that Iceland, Ireland and Norway would have budget surpluses or healthier deficits than the UK.
