Toyota raises outlook for the year

Toyota Motor on Tuesday cut its projected loss for the full year as it reported a smaller first-quarter loss than expected, helped by government sales incentives aimed at offsetting the decline in global demand.

“Right now the pick-up in sales is being supported by government measures,” said Takahiko Ijichi, senior managing director.
