Lonmin replaces chief before Xstrata deadline

Lonmin replaced its chief executive on Monday just three days before the deadline for Xstrata to make good its £5bn ($9bn) proposed offer for the platinum producer.

Ian Farmer, previously the chief strategic officer, replaces Brad Mills, who many analysts have blamed for Lonmin’s problems.
