Boost for private treatment centres

The quality of care in the controversial private sector-run independent treatment centres cannot be compared with that offered by the National Health Service because there istoo little data on their performance, says the NHS inspectorate.

However the data that have surfaced "offers reassurance about the quality of care that the ISTCs provide", said Anna Walker, the Healthcare Commission chief executive.
