Wall Street higher on positive retail reports

Wall Street pushed higher on Thursday as concerns about another rise in US interest rates were soothed by the latest economic data and investors took heart from positive sales reports from leading retail chains.

Growth in US manufacturing activity slowed in May, according to the Institute for Supply Management, while construction spending numbers were also softer than expected.
