It was fascinating to hear Scott McNealy, chairman and co-founder of Sun Microsystems, talk about his company’s commitment to openness as he collected his Distinguished Fellowship award from the British Computer Society at a traditional City of London dinner a few days ago.
It was especially interesting, as I had just read our Valley View column (on Page 2), in which Chris Nuttall explains why use of the word “open” is not always what it seems.
