Shares in Bic fell 8 per cent on Tuesday after the French consumer products group cut its sales forecast and revealed that its first non-disposable razor had so far been a commercial disappointment.
As well as its namesake disposable ballpoints and razors, Bic makes lighters, Tipp-Ex correction fluid and Sheaffer pens. It said on Tuesday that third-quarter sales rose just 0.5 per cent to €366m, while net income fell 15 per cent to €41m.
