The elderly Irish residents of Arlington House hostel in Camden Town, north London, will today do their best to celebrate St Patrick's day with a fiddle band and traditional Irish food.

For some, this may turn out to be their last St Patrick's day because the poor Irish of London and other cities are statistically and literally dying out.
