Lada stake leads Renault assault on Russia

Russia will replace Renault’s home country of France as its largest single market after its purchase of a 25 per cent stake in Avtovaz, the company said at the weekend.

Renault, pushing aggressively into emerging markets to counteract falling sales and market share in western Europe, said it planned to consolidate the Russian company’s Lada vehicles into its sales figures. It would revise upwards its three-year volume targets.
