Berlin warns EU on VW challenge

Germany has warned Brussels not to challenge a cornerstone of its industrial policy, known as the VW law, which protects Europe’s largest carmaker from hostile takeover.

Brigitte Zypries, Germany’s justice minister, on Thursday told more than 10,000 workers at Volkswagen’s headquarters that the European Commission would be “badly advised” if it lodged a new complaint against the VW law.
