On Wall St: Dim lights at the end of the tunnel

After the S&P 500’s worst year since the 1930’s, the new year hope among investors is for some light at the end of the tunnel.

Of course at various stages last year, hopes of a rebound in equities and credit were often dashed as the mortgage bust and banking crisis claimed an increasing array of victims.
