Time is ‘tight’ for Southampton rescue bids

Administrators trying to sell Southampton Football Club have begun drawing up contingency plans for liquidation after saying the relegated football club has only a short window to find a buyer.

Talks are continuing with a number of “serious” parties, said Begbies Traynor, and due diligence has begun with a view to offers for the assets of Southampton Leisure Holdings, the club’s parent company.
