Alternative investment houses under pressure

Listed private equity and hedge fund vehicles are increasingly being targeted by investors looking for either portfolio liquidations or a share price rebound.

After a disastrous 2008, the $10bn (£6bn) listed alternative funds sector – the bulk of which is registered on the London Stock Exchange – has continued to underperform, in spite of a recovery across the hedge fund and private equity industry over the past seven months.
