BAE misses out on $1.1bn truck contract

BAE Systems, Europe’s biggest defence contractor, has missed out on a billion-dollar contract to provide mine-resistant offroad vehicles to the US Army.

The Department of Defense announced on Tuesday that it had awarded the $1.1bn contract to Oshkosh, a Wisconsin-based vehicle manufacturer, and one of BAE’s competitors.
