A 6.0-magnitude earthquake caused tall buildings to sway on Wednesday in the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, rattling nerves still fragile after Monday’s tsunami on the southern coast of Java that had killed more than 500 people.
The US Geological Survey said the latest quake was centred just south of the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra and west of Monday’s 7.7-magnitude quake that caused the tsunami. There were no immediate reports of damage or injury.
