Airbus made up more ground in its battle with Boeing for new aircraft sales as it said on Wednesday that it had won an order for 10 of the planned A350 jets from General Electric’s aircraft unit, in a deal worth $1.6bn.
The European aerospace group had been trailing its US rival in new orders this year. On Tuesday Boeing secured three orders for new planes worth a combined $6.8bn at the Le Bourget Air Show in Paris.
