Paris pressed to reveal secrets on arms sales

The French government is coming under pressure to disclose secret documents concerning weapons sales to Angola in the 1990s after a senior politician from the Gaullist right was convicted this week of corruption linked to arms dealers.

Charles Pasqua, the former French interior minister and for decades one of the right’s most effective political fixers, sought on Thursday to turn his conviction for trafficking influence into a wider affair.
