When John Kent devised an electronic security system to safeguard British Airways’ ground support vehicles in 1990, he had no idea that he was creating a product with global potential.
Almost two decades later, Traka, the company he started, still sees large scope for growth in Britain. Mr Kent himself is now 56 and managing director of the 46-person business. But he was never driven by a desire to build an empire.
