Europe urged to be cautious on US change

The European parliament has backed big business in the region by warning policy makers in Brussels not to loosen reporting demands on US companies too quickly.

Josep Borrell, president of the parliament, said the European Commission should not accept US accounts in Europe unless US market regulators followed suit on European accounts produced under international standards.
