Lack of new jobs mars growth outlook

Diether Klingelnberg is clear what is holding the German economy back: there is no incentive for companies like his to hire new workers.

Since he handed operational responsibility to his son after 35 years in charge at Klingelnberg, a family-owned producer of machine tools, he has had more time as supervisory board chairman to reflect on what should be done to lift Germany out of its economic torpor.
