Fledgling business dependent on exports

Entrepreneurial activity is becoming increasingly reliant on export markets for growth, according to a ranking of business creation in 42 countries.

The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor found that, in richer countries, up to 40 per cent of early-stage entrepreneurs – those in businesses less than 3½ years old – expected at least a quarter of their customers to come from abroad.
