Berlusconi has clear parliamentary majority

Final results from Italy’s general elections, released by the interior ministry, gave Silvio Berlusconi’s three-party centre-right coalition a clear majority in both houses of parliament.

This clear majority and the absence of several smaller parties have prompted many commentators to predict and hope for a more stable government in future.
