Business leader hits out at protectionism

The chairman of the world’s most influential business lobby group has said politicians who blame free trade for their domestic problems should wake up to economic reality.

Marcus Wallenberg, chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce, said the increasingly shrill protectionist comments in the US and Europe were being made by politicians who were “distorted from reality”.
