When Kenya was gripped by a wave of post-election violence this year, the world held its breath as its leaders dithered, seemingly unsure of the right way to bring peace.
For Andreas Albrecht, however, there was no time to hesitate. As regional IT co-ordinator for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) based in Nairobi, his role was clear: to ensure that an influx of aid workers had the technological capabilities they needed to start delivering humanitarian support as quickly as possible to Kenyans caught up in the bloodshed.
