From Mr Robert Lakin.
Sir, With reference to Michael Skapinker’s article “The luggage revolution that passed me by” (August 19): Although I was an “early adopter” of the wheeled bag, it wasn’t until last summer in Venice that I discovered its downside. My 15-year-old daughter was rounding a corner near the Campo de Whatever and caught the leg of a café chair under the case. Before she discovered what was going on behind her, the case had knocked over three more chairs, two tables, and left a cappuccino in the lap of an unsuspecting fellow tourista.
