Al-Qaeda lays claim to July 7 London attacks

Al-Jazeera television on Thursday night broadcast a video tape it said had been sent by al-Qaeda showing Mohammad Sidique Khan, one of the suicide bombers in the July 7 London attacks, reading out his last testimony and blaming the UK's involvement in Iraq for the atrocity he was preparing to commit.

The video tape, the second appearing to emanate from the al-Qaeda movement since the London bombings, is the clearest evidence yet linking the July 7 attacks to the terrorist organisation.
