Iran appoints new nuclear chief

President Mahmoud Ahmadi-Nejad has appointed a new chief for the country’s nuclear programme, the Iranian news agency reported on Friday.

Ali Akbar Salehi, Iran’s former envoy to the International Atomic Energy Agency, will replace Gholam Reza Aghazadeh, who had served for 12 years as head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation.
