Brazil’s progress

Less than a decade ago Brazil wobbled at the first sign of instability on international financial markets. Today, by contrast, the country – like much of the rest of resource-rich Latin America – seems to be immune from market turbulence.

True, Brazil’s equity markets have fallen from their 2007 highs, but bond and currency markets have been stable, investment inflows strong and its private sector more dynamic than ever.
