Iran upbeat, but fresh sanctions loom

Iran on Sunday put a positive gloss on the Geneva nuclear talks though its negotiators had shown little flexibility in a meeting with representatives from world powers, provoking threats of a fresh round of sanctions against the Islamic regime.

Tehran was given two weeks to respond to a big-power initiative aimed at resolving a growing crisis over its disputed nuclear programme after the meeting on Saturday made little progress.
