Foreign investment boosts Taiex

The FTSE Asia-Pacific index was 0.6 per cent higher on Friday, bringing gains for the week to 7.7 per cent.

The Nikkei 225 in Japan rose 5.1 per cent to a six-month closing high of 9,432.83. It was the Nikkei’s largest weekly advance since March, although the trading week only lasted two days due to the Golden Week public holidays.
