Colt Telecom, the alternative telecoms group, saw annual revenues from data service provision outstrip its traditional voice business for the first time.

Revenue for the year to to December 31 decreased 6.7 per cent to €1.6bn (£1.2bn) as its traditional, lower-margin voice business saw revenues drop 19 per cent to €837m.
