Virgin Media could be listed on the London Stock Exchange by Christmas, according to Neil Berkett, chief executive of the UK cable TV operator.

The move would end a longstanding anomaly in which the media company has run its operations solely in the UK but trades only on the US-based Nasdaq exchange.
