Jet Airways parts ways with chief executive

Jet Airways, India’s second largest and most-established private airline, has parted ways with its group chief executive as it implements stringent cost cutting measures to combat a drop in passenger numbers.

The airline said on Thursday that Ravi Chaturvedi had resigned to return to the US, only four months after joining the carrier. He had been brought in by the airline from Proctor & Gamble, the global consumer goods company, in the hope that his considerable international marketing expertise would help lead the airline through challenging times.
