Taliban claims to hold soldiers’ bodies

More than 25 international and Afghan troops were wounded on Friday in a clash with insurgents during a search for two US paratroopers who went missing earlier this week in western Afghanistan, the Nato-led force in the country said.

The Taliban said it was holding the bodies of the two soldiers who police said had drowned in a river during an airdrop of supplies in the western Badghis Province.
