Picture this: you are the captain of a high profile sports team. You are in the final of a major competition. The match is harder than you expected. So at half time you tell your team to get back out there and ignore the competition. You also command them to remove their expensive boots and make do with whatever footwear they wore to the stadium. Unsurprisingly, your team loses.
