Reckitt chief hits out at Tesco tactics

One of Europe's leading consumer goods makers has lashed out at Tesco for forcing suppliers to wait nearly two months to be paid, warning that it could eventually push some smaller players out of business.

Bart Becht, chief executive of Reckitt Benckiser, told the Financial Times in an interview this week that the decision earlier this month by Britain's biggest retailer to toughen payment terms with its non-food suppliers could prove damaging.
