If ever British business needed a boost to morale, it is now. The list of winners of the annual Queen’s Awards for Enterprise is a timely reminder that, buffeted as many companies are by the recession, a huge range of businesses are devising innovative products and selling them around the world.
The 2009 list, published today to mark the Queen’s birthday, comprises a record 194 awards, the largest number in 44 years of the scheme.
