BBC Worldwide poised to sell five businesses

BBC Worldwide, the public service broadcaster's commercial arm, is poised to approve a radical restructuring plan involving the sale of at least five businesses and a 10 per cent cut in overheads.

Worldwide's 10-member board is next month due to approve the plan, leading to several hundred job losses and disposals of non-core businesses such as audio books and educational publishing.
