Bridgestone extends price probe

Bridgestone, the Japanese tyre maker, was forced to admit it was broadening an inquiry into price-fixing at its global marine equipment business after uncovering evidence of inappropriate payments by its sales managers.

Shoshi Arakawa, Bridgestone chief executive, said at a news conference on Tuesday: “I expect the impact on our brand will be quite large”.
