China’s media remains bullish

On the front page of the southern newspaper Guangzhou Daily, the financial crisis does not exist. A gossip story about local boxing champion Liu Hailong along with a huge picture of him in combat pose fights for readers’ attention with an advertisement for China Telecom.

With the world heading into recession, advertising experts believe newspapers could be one of the worst-hit sectors. But that does not seem to apply to China’s biggest city newspaper.
